Add flavor to your meals with this easy alfredo sauce recipe. Perfect not only for pasta, but also drizzling over grilled meats like chicken or beef, adding to casseroles, pizza, or even as a dipping sauce for breadsticks!
In a medium sized saucepan, heat butter over low-medium heat until melted.
Add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
Next, whisk through the cream and bring to a gentle simmer. You don’t want the liquid to boil. Continue to cook at a simmer until the liquid starts to thicken slightly. This could take about 5 minutes.
Gradually add the Parmesan cheese. Whisk until melted.
Add salt and pepper to taste. Turn off heat and serve. (see note 1)
Notes
If you find your sauce has become too thick, you could thin it out by adding a bit of water or more cream. Then adjust seasoning as needed.
